About Us

Katina’s Wee Care Center is in a small town in Northwestern Colorado. As with most small communities, there is high demand for good-quality, licensed home daycare. The town population of approximately 2000, is largely made up of people who work in the neighboring ski resort town of Steamboat Springs.I accommodate the travel time to and from work by providing extended hours of operation.

My center is a Certified Home Daycare licensed in Routt County, and I have a license for a Family Child Care Home through the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Child Care.  My Colorado Shines rating is a level four out of five.

I am certified as a Director in Early Childhood Education, and I have many years experience in early childhood care. I hold current CPR/AED Adult and Child with CPR infant, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and Medication Administration certificates.

I strive to provide a safe, clean, and friendly learning environment that caters to all levels of learning, and I take pride in being known as one of the best in the area. I also strive to provide the best learning environment at an affordable rate. Since I see families struggling to make ends meet who are forced to have both parents work, I keep my fees on the lower side of the range of pricing in the area. I work with parents with multiple children, and with parents who just need part time day care.

A unique aspect of a small town is that residents love interacting with my students. We attend story hour at the public library, we play in the city park, we watch the Fourth of July Parade, we attend the homecoming parade, we visit the elderly at the Haven Assisted Living, we visit the museum, we even entered an exhibit at the County Fair. Residents are happy we are part of the community.

My center was designed to be handicap accessible. My center has a handicap certified bathroom as well as a full kitchen area. Since my center is an open concept, I can provide care while always being able to see and hear the children. The playground area is directly accessed from the center and is handicap accessible as well.

I also engage other agencies in getting help when special needs arise with a child.  I encourage families who need financial help to seek agencies that I partner with. If the family qualifies, Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) can help with payments for childcare.
